Six Flags Entertainment Corporation, North America’s largest regional amusement-resort operator, has announced it has renewed its licensing agreement with Peanuts Worldwide.

The new agreement ensures that the iconic Peanuts characters, including Snoopy and Charlie Brown, will remain a centrepiece of the park experience at several Six Flags locations through December 31, 2030.

The multi-year extension solidifies Six Flags’ position as the exclusive amusement park partner for Peanuts in North America. The collaboration encompasses a diverse range of park offerings, including in-park entertainment and sports, food and beverage services, retail operations, and exclusive merchandise. This means millions of guests at parks like Knott’s Berry Farm, Cedar Point, and Canada’s Wonderland will continue to enjoy themed areas, live shows, and merchandise featuring the beloved characters.

“We are proud to extend our long-standing partnership with Peanuts, which has delivered so many fun and cherished memories to our guests,” said Christian Dieckmann, Six Flags’ chief commercial officer. “Both of our brands are built on bringing families together and creating one-of-a-kind experiences and emotional connections.”

Tim Erickson, executive VP for Peanuts Worldwide, echoed this sentiment, stating, “It has been exciting to see how the legacy Cedar Fair parks have introduced our beloved Peanuts characters to new generations of kids over the years, and this renewed partnership with Six Flags will ensure we expand those connections in authentic and meaningful ways.”

The partnership between the two companies began in the early 1980s with the opening of the first Camp Snoopy at Knott’s Berry Farm. Since then, the legacy Cedar Fair parks, which are now part of the Six Flags portfolio, have invested heavily in creating immersive Peanuts-themed areas.

Recent investments highlight this commitment. Earlier this year, Carowinds unveiled two new family attractions in its Camp Snoopy area, including a new launch coaster and an interactive raft ride. These additions are part of the park’s largest-ever investment in family attractions and also feature a new augmented reality (AR) game, the Camp Snoopy Bird Watchers Club. Last year, Kings Island also expanded its kids’ area with a new Camp Snoopy and a new roller coaster, Snoopy’s Soapbox Racers, along with the nature-themed play area, Beagle Scout Acres.

The licensing announcement comes as Six Flags Entertainment Corporation announced a major loss in the most recent quarter, revising its outlook for the rest of the year.
