Six Flags Mexico has expanded its coaster portfolio with the debut of a new family boomerang rollercoaster.
Marking the tenth roller coaster for the Mexico City park, the addition is designed to simulate the high-stakes intensity of an action movie set, positioning riders as stunt drivers in a “high-octane” film production.
Promoted with the tagline “Lights, Camera… Adrenaline!”, the Six Flags attraction offers a shuttle coaster experience that is being marketed as unique within the Latin American region. The ride experience begins with a 23-meter (approximately 75-foot) drop, accelerating the train to speeds of 60 km/h (37 mph). The layout’s signature dynamic occurs mid-course; after racing toward a vertical peak, the train loses momentum and traverses the entire track in reverse, effectively doubling the ride time and offering a different sensory experience for the return trip. Italian ride specialist Zamperla manufactured the family boomerang coaster.
Adding diversity
From an operational and strategic perspective, the Speedway Stunt Coaster addresses a crucial demographic gap often found in regional theme parks. Six Flags Mexico has explicitly positioned the attraction as a transitional ride for younger guests who have outgrown the park’s dedicated children’s area but may not yet be ready for high-intensity signature attractions like Superman: El Último Escape. This focus on accessibility is reflected in the ride’s safety restrictions, which allow guests as short as 95 cm (approximately 37 inches) to board when accompanied by an adult, or 120 cm (47 inches) to ride independently.
By integrating this intermediate thrill level into the Villa Hollywood zone, Six Flags Mexico aims to diversify its lineup to better accommodate multi-generational groups. The ride is now open to the public, reinforcing the park’s status as a premier destination for coaster enthusiasts and families alike in the region.
