IAAPA, the global association for the attractions industry, has announced a significant update for a new expo.
Following a strategic meeting of its board of directors, the association has determined that its inaugural event in the Middle Eastern region will undergo rescheduling to better serve the global industry. This move impacts the highly anticipated launch of the first regional expo, which had seen significant preparation from global partners.
The association has been closely monitoring the evolving situation throughout the Middle East as recent events continue to unfold. IAAPA leadership emphasised that the safety and well-being of members, exhibitors, attendees, partners, and colleagues remain the organisation’s highest priority. After careful consideration during a board meeting held this past Tuesday, it was confirmed that the IAAPA Expo Middle East will not move forward as originally planned.
Extensive stakeholder consultation
The final decision was reached following a comprehensive series of discussions with a broad range of industry stakeholders. This process involved the IAAPA EMEA Regional Advisory Board and the IAAPA EMEA Manufacturers & Suppliers Committee. Additionally, the association integrated feedback from the MENALAC Board of Directors, as well as various exhibitors, speakers, and local members who have been instrumental in the event’s development.
Jakob Wahl, President and CEO of IAAPA, addressed the change by highlighting the collective effort involved in the planning stages. “This was not an easy decision,” Wahl stated. “We recognise the time, investment, and commitment of our members and partners dedicated to what would have been the inaugural IAAPA Expo Middle East. We are grateful for their support and understanding as we prioritise the safety and best interests of our global community”.
Rescheduled for April 2027
Despite the postponement of the inaugural gathering, IAAPA remains firmly committed to supporting the growth and evolution of the attractions industry across the Middle Eastern region. The association is now looking forward to bringing the community together for the official launch in 2027. The event has been officially rescheduled to take place from 12 to 15 April 2027.
IAAPA further noted: “We recognise the dedication our members and partners have committed to this event and are deeply grateful for your support and understanding. We remain committed to supporting the attractions industry across the region and look forward to IAAPA Expo Middle East next year”.
The association will be in direct communication with all registered attendees, sponsors, exhibitors, and speakers regarding the next steps and logistical arrangements for the 2027 dates.
