Parc Astérix expands Egyptian zone for 2026 season

Parc Asterix Egypte 2026

The French theme park is preparing for a significant evolution of its themed offerings with a major expansion of a classic zone scheduled for the 2026 season.

Starting Saturday, 4th April, Parc Astérix will welcome guests into a transformed landscape where ancient legends are brought to life through a combination of revamped mechanical attractions and enhanced atmospheric storytelling. This strategic development aims to deepen the immersive experience by integrating new decor and interactive elements across the Place du Nil.

A primary focus of the 2026 investment is the complete technical and thematic overhaul of the Oxygénarium, which will be reintroduced to the public as The Descent of the Nile (Niveau de Crue). This water-based attraction has been redesigned to function as a narrative cruise, featuring an entirely new themed waiting line and spectacular scenery. The experience is intended to simulate a journey down the River Nile, overseen by figures of the Egyptian gods, to provide a unique sense of scale and thrill for all age groups.

Complementing the water ride is the transformation of the park’s traditional Flying Chairs into a new experience titled The Flight of Ibis (L’Envol d’Ibis). Positioned ten metres above the ground, the ride has been integrated into a lush water garden environment. The addition of water jets and dense greenery aims to create an invigorating family adventure that merges the sensation of flight with a refreshed botanical setting.

Expanded food options

To support the increased guest capacity in this sector, the park will launch Épidemaïs’ Counter in June 2026. This new buffet-style restaurant will offer Middle Eastern cuisine, providing a thematic dining option that aligns with the broader Egyptian aesthetic. Furthermore, the spring reopening will feature a new production of the show Cleopatra’s Gift. Set on a brand-new stage at the OzIris esplanade, the performance will utilise dance and music to foster direct interaction with visitors.

These developments reinforce the Parc Astérix‘s position as a leading destination, located 35 km north of Paris. With a portfolio that includes the record-breaking Toutatis and the pharaonic OzIris, the 2026 expansion adds further depth to a resort that already features 50 attractions and three on-site forest hotels. To drive initial footfall for the new season, the park is introducing exclusive deals, including free tickets for children to experience these latest additions.
