Chessington World of Adventures is making final preparations as a major new IP-led development nears its public debut.
The Merlin-operated park near London has announced that its latest themed land, World of PAW Patrol, will officially open to the public on Sunday 3 May 2026. The launch of the 1.4-acre development is scheduled to coincide with the May Bank Holiday weekend, a strategic move intended to maximise early-season footfall as the park introduces the UK’s first and only land dedicated to the popular pre-school series. This £15 million investment represents a substantial expansion of the park’s offering for younger children and their families, bringing the world of Adventure Bay to life through a combination of mechanical rides and interactive play areas.
The development process recently included a unique quality assurance phase involving a member of the target demographic. Following a nationwide search that attracted more than 2,000 applications, four-year-old Hallie Sawyer from Southampton was selected as the official “PAWject Manager”. Her role involved a pre-opening inspection of the rides and facilities to ensure they met the high expectations of the series’ fanbase.

Sawyer was chosen by judges for demonstrating values associated with the show, such as kindness and teamwork. Reflecting on her experience during the testing phase, the winner said, “I felt proud when I won – just like Chase, I’m on the case! My favourite was seeing Skye’s helicopters, because she is my favourite pup, and I want to be brave like her”.
Great family fun
The land features several key attractions, including four themed rides: Chase’s Mountain Mission, Marshall’s Firetruck Rescue, Skye’s Helicopter Heroes, and Zuma’s Hovercraft Adventure. Notably, the Zuma attraction is the first permanent Zierer Drifter ride in the United Kingdom. These mechanical assets are supported by immersive playscapes such as Rubble & Rocky’s Play Zone, a climbable construction area, and The Flounder Boat Play, which allows guests to explore a recreation of Captain Turbot’s vessel.
The resort is also leveraging the IP across its hospitality sector. Five themed hotel rooms have been developed, marking the first time PAW Patrol-themed accommodation has been offered in the UK. These rooms are designed to sleep up to five guests and include commercial incentives such as early ride access and Fastrack packages, with prices beginning at £155 for a family of four.

Chessington World of Adventure’s Vice President, Nick Bevan, highlighted the importance of the project’s values during the final stages of the launch. He stated: “It’s safe to say Hallie was on the case, bringing such enthusiasm and ‘PAW-sitivity’ to her important quality assurance mission. Her entry was a brilliant reminder of how the PAW Patrol values can be lived every day through care, teamwork, and doing the right thing.
“It has been great to witness the smiles the World of PAW Patrol has brought to our first visitor, and we can’t wait for families from across the world to experience the magic of PAW Patrol here at Chessington World of Adventures from 3rd May”.
