Walt Disney World has welcomed a brand new competitive attraction in time for the peak summer holiday season.
Level99 is a social gaming experience which has been incorporated to provide an alternative to the traditional theme park attractions found at the Walt Disney World Resort.
As the retail and dining district continues to evolve its entertainment mix, this latest addition aims to change the pace of a day spent at the property by blending physical activity with dining and beverage service. It is in the space formerly occupied by The NBA Experience, and previously, DisneyQuest.
The Orlando venue, which opened its doors on June 29, is located on the West Side of the district, adjacent to the House of Blues and the Drawn to Life Cirque du Soleil theatre. Spanning 46,800 square feet across two floors, the site features 63 physical and mental challenges. This marks the most game-packed location for the operator to date.

A challenging venue
Guests use an RFID-powered device called a Veloband to access the challenges. The system is designed to be persistent, meaning that player progress is saved and can be accessed across different locations. This allows guests to return and build on their scores or compete for placement on the leaderboard.
The activities include cooperative challenge rooms, competitive player-versus-player duels, and an interactive art scavenger hunt. Examples of the physical challenges include Axe Run, where players navigate a beam while avoiding moving obstacles, and Ninja Swing, which requires players to use ropes to traverse platforms.
Matt DuPlessie, the founder and CEO of Level99, shared that the company develops and designs all its games at a production facility in Massachusetts, which allows for regular rotation of content to keep the offering fresh for repeat visitors.

“We are thrilled to bring Level99 to Walt Disney World Resort and share it with the millions of visitors who come to Orlando each year,” he said. “As a company founded on innovation and groundbreaking themed entertainment, it is a natural fit to now be at a place built on those very same ideals. We cannot wait to welcome our first Players.”
Debbie Hart, Vice President of Disney Springs, added that the venue serves as a complement to the existing 150 dining, shopping, and entertainment options available at the destination.
Building an appetite
The venue also operates a food and beverage programme, centred on scratch-made items. The menu includes Detroit-style pizza, wagyu burgers, and an assortment of shareable snacks. Service is provided via a first-floor kitchen window, the main bar, and secondary bar carts on the second level.

This is the fourth location for the brand, with existing sites in Natick, Massachusetts; Providence, Rhode Island; and Tysons, Virginia. The company currently has four further locations under construction in West Hartford, Connecticut; King of Prussia, Pennsylvania; Paramus, New Jersey; and Raleigh, North Carolina. The expansion is supported by Act III Holdings, an investment vehicle led by Ron Shaich, the founder and former CEO of Panera Bread, who focuses on scaling entertainment and restaurant brands.
Ticket sales for the new Disney Springs location commence on June 22, 2026, through the company’s website. Entry prices begin at $29.99 for intervals of 1.5 and 2.5 hours. To mark the opening, the first 500 guests to enter on June 29 received a commemorative pin.
