The Polish region of Karkonosze has debuted a major indoor entertainment facility complete with high-tech attractions.
The brand new Querion Hypermedia Entertainment Park opened to sold-out crowds over the weekend of June 8th. Located between the mountainous towns of Szklarska Poręba and Jelenia Góra, and close to the German and Czech borders, the destination offers a year-round, weather-independent alternative for families, tourists, and corporate events.
The development of Querion is the result of a strategic partnership between Górskie Resorty and the Austrian technology firm Attraktion!. Górskie Resorty is a dominant force in Poland’s hospitality sector, currently managing a portfolio of over 3,000 hotel units across fourteen distinct hotel and aparthotel resorts. By investing in a high-capacity indoor park, the hotel group is actively responding to a growing demand in the leisure industry for quality, weatherproof attractions that can sustain regional tourism revenues outside of peak outdoor seasons.

Attraktion! served as the lead development partner and the exclusive supplier for the park’s media-based installations. The Vienna-based company oversaw the complete ride package and the overarching technological design of the space.
Attraktion! is established in the international leisure industry; its Hypersphere 360 attraction at SeaWorld Abu Dhabi previously secured the IAAPA Impact Award, the Blooloop Innovation Award for World’s Most Immersive Attraction, and the Park World Excellence Award for Best Media-Based Attraction. The company also independently owns and operates Immersium: Wien in Austria, an immersive museum that functions as a permanent showcase for its media-based visitor experiences and themed storytelling.
Sophisticated hardware
The technological centrepiece of Querion is the global debut of the “Circulum 360° Interactive,” a patented, multi-directional projection ride system. Designed to accommodate up to 44 riders simultaneously, the attraction features two independently rotating passenger platforms fixed atop a shared 3-DOF (degrees of freedom) motion base. This hardware is paired with a fully surrounding 360-degree projection environment that turns the entire attraction space into a continuous gaming arena where guests can play in every direction.

To power this debut, Attraktion! collaborated with Rovio Entertainment to adapt the game Angry Birds Pigvasion. Originally built for Attraktion!’s Playneo platform, the game leverages Rovio’s globally recognised IP, which began as a mobile game in 2009 and has since generated over 5 billion downloads. Rovio, which is owned by SEGA and headquartered in Finland, operates six global game studios across Espoo, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Barcelona, and Toronto, alongside Ruby Games, a subsidiary in Turkey.
Ride technologies
Beyond interactive gaming, Querion introduces a notable innovation in ride accessibility with its 50-seat FlyXD Flying Theater. Traditionally, flying theatres have been higher-budget investments for theme parks due to their reliance on complex 6-DOF motion platforms originally designed for aircraft training, which require immense physical space.
The FlyXD system, however, was purpose-built by Attraktion! to replicate necessary flight movements within a much more compact and efficient footprint. This specific engineering choice effectively opens a new application market, allowing regional indoor centres like Querion to feature marquee flying attractions at a significantly reduced investment level.
The park’s capacity is further bolstered by several other immersive installations. Visitors have access to an expanded, 50-person Explorer 5D Stand Up Motion Theater and a separate 52-seat 4D/5D Motion Theater.
Additionally, Querion houses a dedicated Immersive Experience Theater outfitted with interactive floor projections. This represents an industry shift, taking a format typically utilised by temporary, touring immersive exhibitions and cementing it as a permanent fixture within an indoor theme park environment.

Redefining the Digital Space
The design philosophy of Querion extends the entertainment beyond the rides themselves. The park’s central common area abandons the concept of a static circulation space. Instead, it operates as a dynamic multimedia environment where architecture, lighting, audio, and digital media continuously shape the atmosphere from the moment guests arrive. This area connects the various attractions and is augmented by a dedicated bank of 50 virtual reality stations, also supplied by Attraktion!.
Furthermore, the park features an AI education zone. This space diverges from pure entertainment, aiming to make future technologies accessible, engaging, and understandable. Guests are invited to explore how artificial intelligence applications are currently supporting human learning, workplace efficiency, creativity, and everyday life.
Looking back at the project, Attraktion! CEO Markus Beyr said: “Querion is an important milestone for the future of media-based entertainment. We are proud to have supported Górskie Resorty in this unique development, and to have contributed to a destination that brings together immersive technology, artificial intelligence, interactivity and attraction design in one complete environment.
“I would like to thank Górskie Resorty for their trust, partnership and ambition in bringing this vision to life.”
