During a presentation at FITUR 2026 today, PortAventura World announced two significant capital investments for the upcoming summer season.
Two of the resort’s parks will receive major additions – with a new area of Caribe Aquatic Park titled Coral Bay, La Leyenda Perdida and a new immersive adventure trail, Makamanu Jungle, The Adventure Trek, located within the flagship theme park.
The announcement highlights the resort’s continued strategy to consolidate its position as a leading European destination for family leisure by refreshing its offering with high-capacity, immersive experiences.
Expansion at Caribe Aquatic Park
The centrepiece of the 2026 season is Coral Bay: La Leyenda Perdida (The Lost Legend), a new 6,000-square-meter family zone integrated into Caribe Aquatic Park. The expansion features extensive theming based on a narrative of a pirate bay that has re-emerged from the ocean depths after centuries submerged.
PortAventura World officials confirmed that the new area will include hardware unique to the regional market. Key attractions include a family water coaster, marketed as unique in Europe, and an adventure pool featuring an aquatic obstacle course, which the park describes as a global first. The zone is rounded out by a collection of new water slides and a dedicated dining location, significantly increasing the capacity and footprint of the water park.

Revitalizing Polynesia
Inside PortAventura Park, the resort is breathing new life into the classic Polynesia area with Makamanu Jungle, The Adventure Trek. This attraction diversifies the park with a stronger focus on active, outdoor exploration.
Designed to immerse families in the “wild heart of the jungle,” the walkthrough experience utilises secret walkways, suspension bridges, and various physical challenges integrated into the natural landscaping. The attraction’s name, inspired by Polynesian mythology, refers to the “bird’s gaze,” reinforcing the concept of exploring the environment from a new perspective.
Fernando Aldecoa, General Director of PortAventura World, noted that these additions are a direct result of guest feedback and a desire to evolve the guest experience.
“At PortAventura World, we work to continue developing our proposal and offer increasingly memorable experiences,” Aldecoa said in a statement. “We listen to our customers, and the novelties we present for 2026 reflect our commitment to continue surprising them, creating unique experiences for all audiences.”
Both Coral Bay and Makamanu Jungle are scheduled to open to the public this summer.
