A new, high-investment addition in the East of England has officially welcomed its first visitors.
Thousands of visitors descended on the ROARR! dinosaur park in Norfolk on Saturday to witness the launch of Fossil Falls. Gladiators star Matty Campbell, also known as Bionic, was in attendance to cut the ribbon and formally open the new ride to the public. The launch cements Fossil Falls as the longest outdoor tubing slide currently operating in the UK.
Measuring 107 metres in length, the ride requires guests to use doughnut-shaped inflatable tubes before travelling down the course. This latest infrastructure upgrade represents a three-hundred-thousand-pound investment for the 85-acre destination, adding a substantial new physical experience to its existing portfolio.
Reflecting on the successful weekend launch, Campbell noted the strong public turnout. “It was amazing to see so many people turn out for the opening of Fossil Falls, and the atmosphere has been incredible. I’m delighted to have been here to officially open it and see so many families enjoy it,” he said.
“Something special”
Park Director Ben Francis highlighted the high attendance figures and the positive reception from early riders. “What a way to open Fossil Falls! We’ve had thousands of visitors joining us over the weekend, and it’s been fantastic to see families enjoying the ride for the very first time,” Francis stated. “We knew Fossil Falls was going to be something special, but the response has been incredible. Having Bionic here to officially open the ride made it a launch day we won’t forget.”
The launch of Fossil Falls builds upon the ongoing development of ROARR!, which is recognised as the largest dinosaur park in the UK and was recently named one of the top theme parks in the country by The Telegraph. Fossil Falls is also a contender for Best New Attraction in the upcoming UK Theme Park Awards.
The tubing slide sits alongside established visitor favourites such as Dippy’s Splash Zone, the Predator High Ropes course, and Dinomite, which currently operates as the largest indoor soft play centre in Norfolk.
The recent investment expands the site’s indoor and outdoor offerings, which are designed to operate regardless of the weather. The wider 85-acre site includes further mechanical rides such as the Swing-O-Saurus and Raptor Contraptor, alongside immersive walkthroughs like the Valley of the Dinosaurs. Additional family-focused installations include a dinosaur-themed crazy golf course, go-karts at Dippy’s Raceway, and live theatre shows featuring the park’s characters, Dippy and Friends.
Access to Fossil Falls has been integrated into the standard admission price, ensuring all rides and attractions remain inclusive for guests once inside the park. Situated between Norwich and Fakenham, it remains easily accessible for domestic tourists travelling from London, Essex, and the Midlands via mainline train services to nearby Norwich.
