As the peak season approaches, a major European theme park is preparing to introduce new evening entertainment alongside an updated themed land.
Parc Astérix has detailed its investment for the upcoming summer period, featuring a technologically complex nighttime production on its central lake and a redesigned Egypt zone.
From 11 July 2026, the park will present a new evening production titled Asterix et la Potion d’étoiles. Scheduled to take place over the lake at approximately 10pm each night, the show is designed to project characters from the comic strip into the sky.
The production requires substantial technical infrastructure, orchestrated through 3D modelling. The daily operation will utilise more than 370 drones, multicoloured lasers, and over 150 projectors. The water elements include a large screen and 60 water jets capable of reaching heights of 20 metres. Additionally, the display incorporates 2,500 pyrotechnic effects and relies on 12 kilometres of cabling.

The creative narrative features animated appearances by established characters, including Astérix, Obélix, Idéfix, Abraracourcix, and Panoramix. The visual style is intended to remain faithful to the original work of creators Uderzo and Goscinny. Developing the show required several months of artistic creation, studio encoding, and overnight rehearsals.
To deliver the project, the internal park team collaborated with several established technology and entertainment suppliers, including Magic Drone, Fêtes et Feux, TobeConfirm, Dimmer, Crystal Groupe, and Laser System Europe.
Redeveloped zone
Alongside the new evening entertainment, the park has completed a revitalisation of its Egypt area. The investment includes re-themed attractions and updated scenery around La Place du Nil.
The water raft ride formerly known as the Oxygénarium has been redesigned and renamed La Descente du Nil (The Descent of the Nile). The attraction now features an updated queue line and scenery based around Egyptian mythology. The Flying Chairs ride has also been updated, becoming L’Envol d’Ibis (The Flight of Ibis).

Operating 10 metres above the ground, this attraction now takes riders over a water garden incorporating water jets and thematic elements. Furthermore, a new live entertainment offering named Cléopâtra’s Gifts will debut on the OzIris Esplanade, featuring dance and interactive music.
The park is also adjusting its culinary operations within the Egypt zone. The former Restaurant du Cirque has been replaced by a new venue called Les Comptoirs d’Épidemaïs. Themed around the Phoenician merchant character Épidemaïs, the restaurant introduces an updated menu. Food and beverage options include homemade hummus, a couscous buffet, and chicken tagines. The location will also serve traditional homemade mint tea and signature drinks.
Operating season details
Parc Astérix will operate on an extended schedule from 10 am to 10 pm between 11 July and 30 August 2026. The operator is introducing a promotional Malin ticket priced at €49 for both adults and children, available in limited quantities on selected dates. Standard advance tickets are priced from €56 for children and €59 for adults.
Located 35 kilometres north of Paris, the park is operated by Compagnie des Alpes, which manages multiple leisure parks and mountain resorts across Europe.
